ElevenLabs Eleven V4 · Voice guide

How to generate realistic AI voices with Eleven V4

Every voice in this film is AI, made from text with ElevenLabs Eleven V4: a whispering narrator, a sobbing actress, a dragon, a grumpy cab driver, real accents and 90+ languages. Here is exactly how to make voices like these yourself, with the real prompts we used.

How to generate a realistic voice, step by step

  1. 1

Connect Creative Claw to ChatGPT or Claude

Install Creative Claw from the ChatGPT plugin directory, or add it to Claude as a connector. Sign in with Google. You don't need an ElevenLabs account or an API key.

  2. 2

Ask for the voice in plain words

Describe what you need: who is speaking, the mood, and the text. For example: "Read this product intro as a warm, confident narrator, and whisper the last line." The Eleven V4 skill picks a voice and writes the tags for you.

  3. 3

    Direct the performance with [tags]

Put a direction in square brackets right before the words it should change: [whispers], [shouting], [slowly, dramatic], [laughing uncontrollably], [crying]. The same sentence becomes five different performances.

  4. 4

Add sound effects inside the line

Tags also make sounds: [loud rolling thunder], [dog barking], [thunderous applause], [can opening]. Ambience such as wind or waves works best in the middle of a line, after "...".

  5. 5

Design a new voice or pick a real accent

Describe a voice in one sentence and Voice Design creates it. For accents, choose a voice that has the accent natively instead of asking one voice to fake it. Creative Claw finds one for you.

The real prompts from the film

These are the exact lines we sent to Eleven V4. Copy them, change the words, and keep the tags.

Whisper Voice: Jessica

[whispers] I have a secret to tell you.

Laugh Voice: Jessica

[laughing uncontrollably] I have a secret to tell you!

Sound effects Voice: Sarah

[excited] It even does sound effects: a storm... [loud rolling thunder] a dog... [dog barking] and a crowd! [thunderous applause]

Designed voice Voice: NYC cab driver (Voice Design)

[grumpy] So, where to? [sighs] Just don't tell me JFK at rush hour... [screeching brakes] Oh, come ON!

Audiobook Voice: George

[deep, slow storyteller] That night... [howling storm wind] the tower door slowly creaked open... [wooden door creaking] [footsteps on stone]

Radio ad Voice: John

[can opening] [fizzing] [energetic announcer] Summer. Heat. [ice clinking in a glass] And then... SPRITZ! Frozen lemonade. [crowd cheering] Spritz. Stay cool.

Support agent (V4 Turbo) Voice: Matilda

[calm, empathetic] I totally understand. [typing on keyboard] Found it. It's with the courier, and it'll arrive tomorrow by noon.

Meditation Voice: Paulette

[calm, natural pace] Breathe in. [waves crashing on the shore] And out. [birds chirping]

Design a brand-new voice from one sentence

The cab driver in the film doesn't exist. We described him, Voice Design generated three options, and we kept the gruffest one. You can do the same with any character: age, accent, texture, attitude.

A 70-year-old New York City cab driver. Gravelly, deep Brooklyn accent, talks slowly, grumpy and sarcastic but warm underneath.

Real accents, not imitations

Asking one voice to put on an accent sounds fake. Instead, use voices that have the accent natively. In the film, three different speakers ask the same question in a Southern US, a British and an Irish accent.

  • Southern US
  • British
  • Irish
