How to Install CreativeClaw in Grok Bot

By Updated September 13, 2026 setup

CreativeClaw is available for Grok Bot through the Cursor Directory. Once installed, your Bot can generate and edit images, make videos and voiceovers, apply saved brand themes, and manage assets through the hosted CreativeClaw MCP server.

Note: CreativeClaw is not in the Cursor Marketplace. It is listed on the Cursor Directory instead.

Installation is directory-based with OAuth authentication. You will not need to paste an API key or edit a configuration file.

Before you start

You need the current Grok Bot desktop app and an eligible Grok Bot account. If you are on a managed team, your administrator must allow the CreativeClaw plugin and its MCP endpoint (https://app.creativeclaw.co/mcp).

How to install

There are three ways to add CreativeClaw to Grok Bot:

  1. Open Grok Bot → Settings → Plugins.
  2. Browse or search for Creative Claw in the Plugins directory.
  3. Open the listing and choose Install.
  4. Under Yours, confirm that Creative Claw is enabled for the Bot you want to use.

Option 2: Ask Grok Bot to add it

Simply ask Grok Bot:

Add the Creative Claw plugin

or

Add the Creative Claw MCP server

The Bot will guide you through installing the plugin from the Cursor Directory or adding the MCP server directly.

Option 3: Manual MCP URL (fallback)

If you prefer to add the MCP server manually:

  1. Open Grok Bot → Settings → Plugins.
  2. Choose Add MCP Server or similar option.
  3. Enter the server URL: https://app.creativeclaw.co/mcp
  4. Set transport to HTTP (or streamable http).
  5. Authentication type: OAuth.

Authenticate CreativeClaw

After installation, start a new Bot conversation and ask:

Use Creative Claw to show my current credit balance.

Grok Bot should open a browser authentication flow. Sign in to CreativeClaw with Gmail, approve access, and return to the Bot. Grok Bot and Cursor share MCP authentication, so an existing authorized connection may already be active.

Verify image generation

Try one inexpensive request before starting a video job:

Use Creative Claw to create one square launch image for a modern calendar app.
Use a warm cream background, crisp black typography, and one orange accent.
Choose a low-cost image model and tell me the credit cost before generating.

The Bot should identify a CreativeClaw tool, show the result in the conversation, and save it to your CreativeClaw asset library.

Troubleshooting

I can’t find CreativeClaw in Plugins

CreativeClaw is listed on the Cursor Directory (not the Cursor Marketplace). Make sure you’re searching in the Plugins browser that shows Directory listings. You can also ask Grok Bot directly: “Add the Creative Claw plugin.”

If you still can’t find it, use the manual MCP URL method above: https://app.creativeclaw.co/mcp with HTTP transport and OAuth authentication.

Authentication did not finish

Open Settings → Plugins → Yours (or similar), select Creative Claw, and retry authentication. Complete the browser flow with the intended CreativeClaw account, then start a new Bot conversation so its tool list refreshes.

The tools are installed but disabled

Open the plugin detail page and enable its connector tools. Team policy can disable an MCP server even when its plugin is installed. Check with your team administrator if you’re on a managed team account.

Managed team access issues

If you’re on a managed team and CreativeClaw is not available, your administrator may need to:

  • Allow third-party plugins from the Cursor Directory
  • Whitelist the MCP endpoint: https://app.creativeclaw.co/mcp

For the current Grok Bot plugin workflow, see xAI’s plugin settings documentation and plugin troubleshooting guide.

Skills and enhanced prompting

CreativeClaw works well with Grok Bot’s default prompting. For enhanced model selection and prompting guidance, you can optionally install the CreativeClaw skill if your Grok Bot version supports skills from the creative-claw-marketplace repository.

Check Grok Bot’s skill documentation to see if skills are supported in your version.
